Dear Patient,

Over the last few months, I have been gradually reducing my office schedule as I transition my office responsibilities in preparation for retirement in mid-May. Many of you have allowed me to walk alongside you during some of the most important and vulnerable moments of your lives. That trust has meant more to me than I can adequately express. For those of you who are just beginning care with me, please know that this transition is being handled very thoughtfully.

This decision has come after much reflection and was not made lightly. My highest priority is that every patient continues to receive attentive, compassionate, and excellent care. Currently, I am working diligently to provide a smooth transition for your maternal-fetal care. We are actively coordinating with other experienced maternal-fetal medicine physicians in the region, including trusted colleagues, to help support your ongoing needs. Our goal is to ensure that you continue to have access to high-quality, timely care, whether within our practice on a reduced schedule or with these trusted colleagues. As part of this transition, our Alexandria outreach service is anticipated to conclude in May. We encourage you to begin coordinating with your primary obstetric provider regarding ongoing referrals for maternal-fetal medicine care. Your obstetrician will help guide you to appropriate resources to ensure continuity of care.

If you have any questions about your care or upcoming appointments, please contact our office. We are here to help.

It has been one of the greatest privileges of my life to care for you. Thank you for your trust.

With warmest regards,
Sheryl Rodts-Palenik, MD
